A Florida mother and her adult son face felony incest charges after a reported domestic dispute led to an investigation, police said.

Christina Clemens, 46, and her son, Shane Clemens, 22, were arrested following a law-enforcement response to their Polk County, Florida, residence, police said.
Deputies initially responded to the home after Christina Clemens reported that her son had battered her. During the domestic investigation, however, the 22-year-old son allegedly told detectives that he and his mother had maintained an ongoing sexual relationship since he turned 18, according to authorities.
Both mother and son admitted to detectives that they had been involved in the sexual relationship, police said.
When investigators questioned the mother about her son’s statement, she confirmed that the relationship had occurred, authorities said.

She estimated to detectives that the two had engaged in sexual acts “only about 100 times,” according to authorities.
The woman’s husband reportedly told investigators he had not known about the relationship between his wife and her adult son. But he said he had previously questioned why his wife and Shane Clemens would frequently lock themselves inside the master bedroom, according to police.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd publicly responded to the accusations against the mother and son, authorities said.
“What else can you say? That’s nasty. And it’s illegal,” Sheriff Judd said.
Both mother and son were arrested on felony incest charges following the investigation, police said.
The 46-year-old mother also faces an adultery charge in connection with the case, according to authorities.
